April 2010: Updating a Historical Home...
The Portland bungalow is one of the most common and popular pre World War II home styles in the Northwest. The first bungalows appeared in California around 1900. Following the close of the 1905 Lewis and Clark Exhibition, bungalows began to spring up all over Portland. Many of these newer homes were concentrated in the new East Side neighborhoods. This style continued to be popular until the 1920’s, when the revival styles slowly took precedence.
February 2010: Vendor Achievement Award
Area Floors was proud and very humbled to receive the Vendor Achievement
Award from the Interior Design Society of Portland. We pride ourselves in the relationships we have with our clients, no matter the size of their project. It has been an honor to work with a number of members of the Interior Design Society of Portland and we look forward to a continued partnership in the future.
February 2010: IDS Luncheon
We had a wonderful gathering of 80+ members and prospects to kick off the First IDS Luncheon of the new year. The event was hosted at our Tigard Location and our partners, Fabrica Carpets and Stainmaster Fiber, were here to share the 2010 Color Forecast. These colors are represented in the various carpet and flooring products Area Floors has to offer. Thanks for all who attended and we look forward to seeing you in our showroom.

On Saturday January 9th, the Interior Design Society of Portland held its first Distinct Style Awards Ceremony. With the help of the Bay Area Interior Design Society, the 124 entries were evaluated and the winners were selected.
